Hello Everyone, I am excited to be the District Governor of 35-O. I want to thank everyone for their support. I look forward to working with everyone as a team in order to reach our district goals and having fun along the way. This year we would like to focus on membership and starting new clubs. I encourage each club to have a membership drive event. If you do have one planned, let us know the date so we can help with promoting the event. Please provide that information to PDG Steven Van Varick or PDG Jacquie Tripp. If you know of a group of people who would like us to do a presentation in order to form a new club; the first 5 members who arrange it with a particular group, time, and place will get a $50.00 gift certificate to a restaurant. Feel free to reach out to me and the Global Action Team for any questions or concerns. I do ask you, if you find a problem, please provide a possible solution or two. If there is any particular change you would like to see bring solutions and expect to be part of the process. Remember, “if it is going to be, it is up to we… but it starts with me!”
Yours in Lionism,
DG Bob Armstrong
The annual meeting for the installation of club officers is a long-time Lions club tradition, usually held as the first meeting of the new fiscal year. It is a celebratory event that is an opportune time for a club to express gratitude, honorably transfer authority and responsibility, recognize club members and celebrate the club’s service! You may also use this occasion to acknowledge community members and recognize long-time members. To further assist you, download your copy of the Club Officer Installation Ceremony guide today. This guide also provides helpful tips in the areas of:
Help the newly elected officers prepare for next year by reviewing the Club Excellence Award (2024-2025 applications will be available July 1), Club Quality Initiative and MISSION 1.5. Each of these programs are a tool for a road map to success and to help clubs achieve excellence.
In addition, it’s never too early to start planning for next year. Be sure your incoming club president, secretary and treasurer are aware of the training courses available for their roles in the Lions Learning Center (LLC).
Encourage Lion and Leo members in your club to apply for the 2024-2025 Lions International Institutes available for your constitutional area. To see when your area’s institute is being held, visit the Lions International calendar today.
